I need help with ideas for a canopy ( pictures would be good :D )
The problem is the boat wouldnt of had one but as i dont race it or go very fast ( honest :D ) I think it would be a nice touch to a nice little boat .
I think anything practical is going to look rubbish but as its just a little boat i cant work out what to go for

A few pics so you can get the scale .....

Sorry about the quality of the pics but they are the only ones i have to show the scale with someone in the boat .

Hope you guys have some ideas :)

Hoops mounted in the rear cockpit, fixed at the for'ard end to enable a canopy to swing forwards and clip to the top of a windscreen - just like a car!

Pretty boat!

Here is the smallest member of the Lyman family of motor cruisers, taken from their 1968 catalogue :

I am guessing that your boat is probably a wee bit smaller (about 16')?

But maybe you could have a similar type of wee bimini canopy - although it would be a bit too low if it met the top edge of the windscreen.

Thats the problem . I think anything fixed to the windscreen will be too low . I have a cover for when she is on the trailer so its only for when i take here out .

When they fit spray hoods to the huntsman 28 the panel of cloth above the windscreen rises vertically to give the headroom required and windows are in the panel.

Very practical, no doubt, but I think it would look horrible on this boat.

Is the canopy to keep spray off, or rain, or sun? A sun canopy in particular I think could look quite different to a spray one.

Indeed on the huntsman it ruins the line of the boat completely, they look awful, but I am going to fit one next year, for rain and sun protection as well as spray.

Why not go for something simple that can be folded away, all the small boats out here use a type similar to the piccy, they cost 80 euros. can be lowered by chopping a bit off each tube and re-riveting the caps back on..
