Just possibly there is a download problem with these files. Certainly my Ubuntu (linux) does not seem to be able to show the pics. May the reason no one has responnded. good luck olewill

Funny thing that after giving up and posting the above about 30 mins later the footage suddenly appeared. Very nice too. I don't know if you have amended the post after reading my comment above. good luck olewill

Beggin pardon Sor, they did work after a 12 minute delay.

Your images are clear and sharp, the sound is good with lots of natural boaty sounds plus commentary.

I was particularly interested as this water is my manor.

The films could be even better with a beginning, a middle and an end. All I see is a middle.

Suggestion. Introduce us to the boat and people, take us below to the nav station and discuss passage plan + expected weather.
Identify the places of interest: Inner Farne, Bamburgh Castle, the species of bird on Bass Rock, and your anchorage next to St Baldreds Boat.
Summary - what went right, what didn't.

More please.

worked for me

you were indeed blessed with good weather

lucky boys

well done

D

PS - wind noise - one way of getting clean acoustic is to hold the camera down in the bottom of the cockpit for a couple of minutes and then kill the level on the wind compromised track and use that clean wind free sound over the shots of sailing

youtube/google/barsteweards is really the best platform for sailing films - no need to wait for a download.

here at winter thatch the bandwidth is so low that I left these downloading overnight

Many thanks for the most helpful and supportive comments so far.
The trip from Amble to Eyemouth was day one in a Summer that took us from Northumberland to Lancaster via Scotland. Hopefully I can make a better fist of some of the subsequent parts of that trip and post them in a more accessible location as Dylan suggested. If the weather moderates then this year's trip will start at Glasson on Saturday and the plan is to go to N Wales via Liverpool over Easter. My approach is to sail a few days, set up in a new location, enjoy exploring the new location with SWMBO and then move on. Trouble is we keep having to dash home for work, family etc etc.
The camera used was not expensive - a Panasonic HC-V500 with 50x zoom. It was used in full HD mode and result do look good even on a big telly.
Incidentally I find the camera much better than binos for identifying distant objects at sea.
Thanks again
Martin

Nice sunny day to be at sea!

The file size of the first video is over 700mb. That is quite a large file and your page set up means the user has to download rather than stream (at least it did on my tablet). It took me over half an hour on my home wireless broadband.

YouTube is very hard to beat in that it has quite clever automatic compression which reduces the file size for you.
And it lets the user watch as they download (streaming).

Always nice to see a pretty boat romping along on a sparkly day though.

Filming on boats is tricky as you cant easily get off it to get a perspective shot.
There are only so many shots one can have of the sail and the sea.
When I am editing down my trips I always wish id put one of the kids in the dinghy and then sail close by, but there is always something else to do.
And maybe they are not quite old enough for it to be fully safe.
Having your camera on a telescopic arm can be quite good for the selfie's.

Where Dylan is really hard to beat is he has that relaxed conversational style with the camera, no doubt borne out of years of practice.
Often, he isn't talking about sailing. It could be a lawnmower or cleaning a loo.
He seems good at getting people to talk to camera as well, which takes a certain brash charm I am not sure I possess.

But that should not stop you or I from posting.
I love that I have a bank of videos where I can see my kids camping, canoeing and now sailing.

Thanks for posting
