Hello everyone,

I’ll be attending the Cannes Yachting Festival 2025 with a media accreditation.

It will be my first time covering the show and I’d like to make the most of it.

A few questions for those who have been there before:
  • How accessible are the yachts for media content (with the right approach)?
  • Are there specific days/times that are better for meetings or filming on board?
  • Any do’s and don’ts when approaching shipyards or brokers during the show?

I’d appreciate any insights from people who’ve exhibited or covered Cannes before.

Thanks in advance!

Hello Wallace,
I usually go there on the first day of the Festival (Tuesday): less people, agents are in good mood, not tired, and thus more willing to spend time with you.
I also contact by email in advance the exhibitors I am interested in, so that when I arrive they already have my name in their list and it is much easier to get on board.
In some areas, you cannot directly acces the boats, as you have to go through a "gate". But once you managed to enter that private area by visiting one yacht, you can manage to stay there and jump to other neighbouring areas.
ps: I am not a professional, just a private client.

Thank you so much for your reply, that’s very helpful 🙏

I was especially curious about the “gate” you mentioned. Do you know if access is strictly based on being on an exhibitor’s list, or can a press badge also make it easier to pass through?

And once you’ve entered the private area with one yacht visit, do you still need to be cleared for each exhibitor individually, or does it usually get smoother after the first entry?

Really appreciate your guidance — I’ll be attending with a press badge and trying to cover the Festival, so any extra context is very valuable.

Since I am press, but I never made it to Cannes. I did Press stuff in Genova in 1995 (was more agricultural then), and then in 2023 and 24.
September is the worst month for me....

For press, there is the press conferences were you are allowed to visit the novelties during the press call.
All major builders do this, and to some extent even the small ones.
Some builders (smaller ones) will try to accommodate you for a visit, even outside press calls. Big ones less so.

You have to understand it is a boat show, they are there to sell.

Thanks a lot for sharing this, really helpful.

I’ve got a couple of follow-up questions if you don’t mind:

  • When you mention press calls and conferences, are these usually held on land (conference rooms, booths) or sometimes directly onboard the yachts?
  • In your experience, how easy is it for press badge holders to get onboard for filming/coverage outside of those official press moments?
  • Do the bigger brands (Ferretti, Sunreef, Azimut, etc.) also provide slots for press visits, or is it usually limited to the smaller builders you mentioned?

I imagine with the right approach and timing, it should be possible — but I’d love to hear from your personal experience.

Really appreciate your insights — I’m trying to prepare the smartest way to maximize access during the show.

But surely Mr Wallace will in his way after being allowed to view the yachts write or produce videos that will sell the item ….itscalled publicity🤔
