Does anyone know of a Halte or Port de plaisance that will let you stay over winter, at reasonable rates? Anywhere on the entire length of the waterway would be ok, but if I had a preferance I'd settle for Carcason.

Thanks

Glen

Friends of mine live near Homps, some 15 miles east of Carcassonne. We always spend a week with them around X-mas and since many years we have seen boats wintering there. It's a pleasant little village and the marina looks small but pretty well equipped. Looking at the state of repair of some boats I don't think this marina is very expensive.

Came thru. a year ago and there are a couple of places now. One I remember at the Med. end just as you enter the system proper and one about half way. Looked ok when we took on water there. Also one where they have established a very interesting museum on the building of the canal. If you need more info. get back aok it all up if I hjave the detail still.
