Can you use 2 seperate sounders?

Re: Err, is this really a problem....

Is there a directional function to the receiving system ? Otherwise the unit would be picking up signals from other boats if the "receive" window was open ?

Well I bought the NASA depth.

Tubes of oil? Too much trouble. Stuck it down with blue tack (as someone advised here) then once I was confident it worked ok added Sikoflex on top to seal it in place. If I need to remove it I just cut away at the sikoflex an inch around the unit and it will pull away freely since only the blue tack will then be holding it in place.

With both the NASA and Seafarer 300 switched on, the Seafarer works ok, but the NASA goes nuts. Still, one is only meant as a backup for the other. I'm happy /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

We use 2 all the time, same make but one operates on 38kHz and one on 200kHz. No interference what so ever - one transducer on each side of the hull.

But if we try to use 38 kHz and 50 kHz together they do have problems.

Also make sure you try any combinations away from the quayside and other boats to avoid side echos confusing the issue and making you think it is the other sounder interfering.
