Freestyle is in fact at anchor off the yet-to-be-identified inhabited island. She emerged from her anchorage at high tide the following morning through the passage visible above the funnel of the cruise ship. Pic below shows the passage from the opposite direction.

Is number 6 the isle of Arran? I think one distant peak is Goat Fell, visible over both Jura and Kintyre.
[/ QUOTE ] No. A line drawn between the viewpoint and Goat Fell (on Google Earth, which may not be plane sailing) goes well clear of Colonsay's northern end, which is to the left of the original picture. Also Goat Fell is 60 nautical miles away, and doesn't show in the next frame of the panorama - if it were visible, it would be roughly where the profile of Mull just touches the lower part of the Jura skyline:
That will be Tinkers Hole I think so how about Erraid? I have passed it but not gone in to the anchorage yet... so I don't know if the island is inhabited.
Erraid it is. Cottages built in the 19th century by the Northern Lighthouse Board are now owned and occupied by the Findhorn Trust Edit: sorry, Findhorn Foundation
In "Kidnapped" R L Stevenson wrote: A sea-bred boy would not have stayed a day on Earraid [sic]; which is only what they call a tidal islet, and except in the bottom of the neaps, can be entered and left twice in every twenty-four hours, either dry-shod, or at the most by wading. Even I, who had the tide going out and in before me in the bay, and even watched for the ebbs, the better to get my shellfish—even I (I say) if I had sat down to think, instead of raging at my fate, must have soon guessed the secret, and got free. It was no wonder the fishers had not understood me. The wonder was rather that they had ever guessed my pitiful illusion, and taken the trouble to come back. I had starved with cold and hunger on that island for close upon one hundred hours. But for the fishers, I might have left my bones there, in pure folly. And even as it was, I had paid for it pretty dear, not only in past sufferings, but in my present case; being clothed like a beggar-man, scarce able to walk, and in great pain of my sore throat.

i'm excited, so what is the special prize???
[/ QUOTE ] A blow by blow account, verbal and naturally over a couple of pints, of how Freestyle ran aground in Port Patrick on a balmy Thursday afternoon in full view of a large crowd of amused onlookers. (No good trying to heel her off with a wing keel, but the propwash wiggle worked in the end.)
