Last year I cleaned a hull, wiping the chalk of with solvent thinners first, then used a hired in petrol air compressor, with an air orbital sander with wet & dry 800 disc first then down to 1200 wetting the hull with a garden sprayer filled with water & a squirt of fairy liquid to lube & keep things wet, then washed - hosed the hull & continued with G3 on a pad still with the orbital, which brought the shine back, then used an air buffer with T cut, followed by a hand polish with mutton cloth to remove the residue, then a few coats of wax then a hand polish using mutton cloth. The boat looked a million dollars after.
