Can we try the list of anchorages again without fred drift

Whats wrong with fred drift ? Is it a difficult anchorage ? I have never heard of the place ... where is it ??? I detect driftism here .....

Just to get this on course, Alan is hopeless without a chart plotter /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Brandy Hole at Hullbridge on the Crouch. 4 sailing clubs, numerous pubs, a supermarket or two, even a pharmacy and doctors.

About 1/2 a mile to hook to the sea wall for your dinghy.

Pinched from the hijacked thread

Orford

and

Buttermans bay in the Orwell..... tender to Woolverstone (or Pin Mill at a push).... both with pubs and a bus service

The Twizzle and tender into Walton around HW, if you time it right you can get a go on the dodgems on the pier as well.

Co-op Supermarket and very good butchers.

theres an anchorage at Sea Palling,it gives some protection to the weather but not a lot,Wells used to be free if you sat on the hook but they are now charging a fiver to sit on the mud,There is a Sailing club at the mouth of the Humber who by all accounts are friendly and very welcoming to visiting Yachtsmen.Nothing at Yarmouth unless he can drop his mast and head up river. There is an overnight pontoon at Sutton bridge on the nene (no facilitys).
