I have heard of commercial operators looking to sue hammersmith council for loss of earnings due to their lack of maintenance for years of the bridge. This fiasco will cost me well over a thousand pounds minimum. How far over a big fat zero are the chances of leisure boaters tagging on the back of a compensation claim?

If you can prove they didn't do something and were negligent in a legal duty then I would have thought you could.
Mind you have you checked that your boat/holiday insurance wont reimburse you for costs of mooring somewhere and travelling home by taxi?

It's interesting timing. A lot of insurance policies specifically exclude pandemics. This situation is not related to a pandemic but as there is currently a pandemic underway it could be quite interesting territory legally.

am wondering if any of our lot are stuck up there ?

I know people stuck both sides. Not sure who is gonna suffer the most, The ones with extra licence fees to pay, or those stuck in St Kats at £100 per night. ?
