Can we actually sail and anchor at the moment?

That might be interesting when we get back to the UK then. Currently in Azores waiting for strong Northerly's to go pass so we can sail to Ireland then home to UK. We intend to coast hop if weather isn't perfect so we will expect a few issues

If you arrive in the UK on you boat you will be presumed to have been living on your boat when the amended Regulations came into effect (today - 01/06/20). In that situation so long as you remain on your boat (the place you are living - Regulation 6(1)), irrespective of where you anchor for the night or moor up, you will be complying with the Regulations.

I keep seeing boats out sailing and some appear to be out for more than one day so where are they going? Are we allowed to anchor?

We have been at Sea for the last 77 days (since leaving India before lockdowns were inventned) looking for a port/County that will let us in...

Finally after negociation with the harbour aruhotities and customs and immigration and and we have been allowed into Greece..

Not "questionable" but illegal, if I understand the legislation correctly.

The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (England) Regulations 2020

"No person may, without reasonable excuse, stay overnight at any place other than the place where they are living."

I didn't vote for these muppets, but that's the law.

It would have been simpler to specify that you had to be at home at certain times but that would have been called out as a curfew so instead we have that mess.

It does provide the benefit that one can travel overnight

Apparently I can sail somewhere, drop a hook and have a cup of tea but not stay on the hook half a mile from anyone else beyond an unspecified time called "overnight".

I must return to my point of boat storage, decamp, drive home and sleep in the bed I slept in last night. Apparently this will save lives.

At which point I'll carry on ignoring these muppets and applying common sense, which has worked very well so far. The world has truly gone mad.

presumably can't enter another marina
I thought that until I heard haslar marina saying you can use their visitor area!
The lightship along side is closed.
You can't stay overnight though, not sure if that apply to the boat.

It is a curfew in all but name.pointless and ill thought out. The country has gone mad. I suspect it will be ignored by many. Enforcement will be difficult, if not impossible if you’re anchored in the back of beyond.
