Hi all,
Boats out of the water at the moment, whilst anti-fouling I noticed the exterior heads seacock was not attached to anything and able to rotate completly (Pic 1). I tried to undo the interior of it but can't shift it. (Pic 2). Can anyone identify this type of seacock?, it looks pretty old, can you buy parts for this still?. If I can get it undone I'm guessing the bar of the interior bit screws into the exterior plate? (I hope that makes sense?). Cheers Ming

i have those in my Oyster 37.
the spindle on the inside should have a "Roll Pin" through the bronze handle & the spildle.
the handle / finger gripper needs taping anticlockwise.
the large hex cap that the spindle passes through needs undoing with a large spanner or as i do chain wrench.
they are very simple seacocks to service. 1 moving part

guess your UFO is a Landermore fit-out /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Looks like a Landamore seacock - fitted to late 70's early 80's cruiser racers as they were flush fitting when closed.

I think they are quite well made - mine are still going strong - I've not needed any spares - but a quick web search comes up with:

http://www.landamores.co.uk/HullSeals.html

Its got a diagram that may help. Basically as they are flush fitting, they have a plate that once you have opened the seacock (unscrewing the top) you have to pull the handle back to withdraw the plate into the body of the seacock at whcih point you can normally engage another bit of thread to hold it out (and so fully open)

From the second pic it looks as if:
1) The brass handle is fully screwed down
2) The locking allen screw that connects the handle to the central bar has come loose to its moving seperatetly to the handle

Hope that makes sense
