can someone explain LED lighting please

Please also bare in mind that LED lighting designed for 12V use is also polarity conscious.
Which basically means that the +ve part of the LED needs to go to the +ve (or live) side of the lamp fitting which you are using the lamps into.
Its normally assumed that the centre part of a lamp fitting (or indeed the bulb metal contact) is the +ve with the outer part (either bayonet cap or Edison screw) is the neutral (-ve)

The website below stocks a vast assortment of LED and have a very quick delivery (I ordered parts yesterday and they wer ehere today!)

It might be too crude for you but certainly the price is OK. Just cut the wires and connect to your switch.
It has a sticky back and really does not look so bad just no shiny brass work.
On this sight they have a whole series of these in different sizes. More light more current but even the biggest use very little current.
Sorry Adrian they are not as sophisticated as yours or as good but the price is crazy cheap. olewill
