Above is the original floor plan from Ferretti's original brochure.
My boat doesn't have an oven in the galley, and I'm trying to work out where Ferretti might have originally put it.

Looking at the galley graphic there is a space that looks like it has a cup/saucer graphic (so maybe dish washer?) but this is an empty grp cupboard with a pull down door on my boat. There is another cupboard under the dinette but I can't determine what they are showing there.

Any suggestions

What's hosted in the counter on the outside of the galley counter top because a few googled pictures show what looks to be a microwave. On a later 2002 model there appeared to be a grill top left of the sink but no clear pictures of this area on earlier model photos.

2002 boat is completely different - the 150 was produced 1994-1997.
The square out board of the galley is an under counter freezer, under the hob is the galley fridge.

When you say 'area behind the helm seats' do you mean to port (the helm) or underneath the dinette to starboard?
There is a cupboard there which is vaguely microwave oven sized but it has a door and its quite high up and the opposite end from the hob/fridge/sink

The cupboard forward under the dinette is probably a storage area for the Ferretti custom crockery and glassware if its like my old F46. Again on my F46, the microwave over was next to the hob so my guess is that on your boat, the location for the oven would have been that box inboard next to the hob. IMHO the designers never thought of finding space for a dishwasher on a boat of this age. I don't believe it was ever an option on the F46

Bit of a guess Jez but it looks to me like if you fit it where the dotted line "dishwasher symbol" is on the plan, ie port side of galley, you'll need to make a box to protrude into e/room to contain the oven. That's how the drawing looks. Quite a big job, but perhaps necessary because you need an oven obviously
Otherwise, forget what Ferretti designed and fit it where you think is best (which I'm inclined to think is still on that port side of the galley)
Imho try to fit a proper oven/microwave combi from Miele or siemens etc, not a microwave. However the former tend to be 50mm deeper than the latter, so making the engine room box job possibly bigger

hi John,

Fortunate the odd box is in situe, just on Seralia its empty. I'm sure it will take an oven but I was concerned about ventilation and heat dissipation etc. Its a grp (I think) box with a lower hinged fold down door.

Ill take a pic next time I'm out. Agree on the proper oven not just a microwave idea

Jez, afaik you should be ok building a modern oven into a fully enclosed box. If you get the right sort they vent by fan to the front and they have excellent insulation. My Mieles are built into wooden cabinetry and vent to front only
Your issue is dimensions of the box that has been installed already. Hopefully it will all come together

Ok, sound like a plan. I didn't realise they self vented. I was concerned about setting the boat alight!!!

What model Miele do you have?

Small oven/microwave combi is H5080 BM and large oven is H5681 BP but order was 3 yrs ago and they have of course updated the specs and changed model names since then. They have touch control screens which aren't really necessary especially on an oven that is tucked away like yours so TBH you'd be better buying the same fundamental oven carcass but in a version with the ordinary knobs not touch screens, imho

Been doing some picture hunting and this picture shows the cupboard under the dinete but in the galley.
On my boat it has a 240v power socket in the back (or at least me manual shows it as having one).

Intended for microwave or something else?

when I installed my first plain oven at home #1 a smeg job, I hadn't realised how little current an oven consumes. I was shocked to see a plain cable like the one you probably have on your laptop charger... It was indeed a 750W 220V job.
So don't overestimate current needs for a plain oven, you'll be impressed.
In theory they do vent at the front, but would be nice to have a backup way of venting some heat when things break (a bit and before you realise it isn't working as it should, been there done that with the same smeg oven...)

cheers

V.
