The links are there to provide side-to-side articulation as well as fore and aft. Removing them will place more stress on the wire at the swage which is where it’s most likely to break.Old system but it does work. Going to refurb the swivel bit next but noticed l could lower the drum by taking out the two links, any reason why not?

You need the articulation between the bottle screw and the stem head not between the furler and the bottle screw.The links are there to provide side-to-side articulation as well as fore and aft. Removing them will place more stress on the wire at the swage which is where it’s most likely to break.
It seems fine as it is quite a high cut and only on a Konsort Duo!What will happen to the genoa where it meets the pulpit if you lower everything? It may be fine, but worth considering.
