Can I update C-Map?

My latest boat came with a Standard Horizon CP-180 colour chartplotter. It works nicely and, for a small chartplotter, I quite like the controls. I'm guessing it's very old and the C-Map memory card says Feb 09. Is there any way of upgrading the charts or is it just too old? Thanks.

When I last updated my Standard Horizon CP300i plotter, many years ago now, Standard Horizon said that I wouldn't be able to update it again as it was an earlier version of that model and (something like) it didn't have the capacity to accept later charts.

I suggest you contact them at the number at the bottom of this page (they were very helpful back in the day, but might have changed, and also I think no longer sell plotters).

ChartCo which was part of Bookharbour, updated mine a few years ago. They were very old and they took the cards then updated. In some instances, the new editions had to be split over two cards as I guess the data set had grown larger over time.

ChartCo no longer exists having been merged with Marine Press to create OneOcean. OneOcean still offer navigation services but it looks like ENCs only that satisfy ECDIS requirements.
