Can i see a picture of your deck paint?

I have Gray deck covering but will replace it with off white to try to reflect as my heat as possible.

I dont want bright white as the sun can reflect off the surface making vision less easy.

Painted my decks recently and went through the whole colour quandary. I was fortunate enough to be given some left over paint from a boat yard friend and mixed colours.

I ended up with 1/3 squall blue and 2/3 gray international deck paint. Measure by weight on digital scales. Really pleased I bothered.

Litre of Premier white deck paint mixed with a litre of Premier Grey, if you're going to do it, then do it properly and use it as an excuse to remove and rebed the deck fittings

.

Oh dear! I hope I don't meet up with you in Brittany. I will feel rather ashamed at the comparison between my scruffy deck paint and yours!

OK ... the above picture was a little while after I'd repainted the deck ....... household exterior masonry paint (gives a near smooth feel under bare feet - but good non-slip) in 2019.

The next photo is a month ago after doing a lot of on / off deck work etc. and shows the paint wearing down.

Initially some would think ... no good doesn't last ... but think again ... to remove this paint is a lot easier than 'Branded Deck Paint' - witness the number of threads asking how to do it ...
It means that you do not build up all those layers of paint that years later you hate !!

Second - I can buy a 15 - 20ltr tub mixed to the colour of choice at local hardware shop for same or less price than 'branded' deck paint in less than half tub ...

Check out PBO's own test of paints and Sandtex actually scored well ...

Couple of Before and after using International Intergrip

One tip. It will dry in 24 hrs but once painted allow four/five days before walking on it to allow it to harden properly

Mixing paint for a colour is a good idea, this is the second time someone posted a mix of grey and white. Do anything special to mix them or just slop equal amounts in a bucket and stir?
