Can anyone point me in the direction of a (blank) contract for the sale of a second-hand boat, please?

The contract and Bill of Sale are entirely different things. The first is the written agreement between the seller and buyer and the second is the transfer of title when the contract is complete. Model documents available on the RYA site, although you can also use the MCA BofS.

I am very well aware of the difference between the contract and the bill of sale, thanks.

It's the contract I was seeking.

As stated above, I have now found an old contract on my laptop, but it might be more generally useful if you could give the links, please, for either the RYA or the MCA 'model' contracts?

Thank you!

Pretty sure you have to be a member to access the pack for buying and selling with the model contract. MCA only have a BofS

I sold my last boat last year privately. No contract, Just a handshake and the Bill of Sale, No faffing about with a deposit either, payment in full on completion.

Yes ...... I did the same when we sold 'Arendala' in December.

There was a great deal of trust between the buyers and ourselves, and they didn't want to have a survey.

Not all of my sales/ purchases have been quite so straightforward.
