She does not look too bad Gordon. You've got all the important bits there. I can't place the design but I expect Byron will be able to find her in his "100 Motor Cruisers from the 70's book".

I'd have been well chuffed to be told I could have her "gratis". What you need to do now is press on before the storage costs start eating into your "investment".

Get the hull done and the motor running and get her back on the water. That way you can have a bit of a play while fitting out. Helps to keep the enthusiasm up.

Not only that but the less you have on board the less there is to be failed on if you are going for the BSS. It's also a lot easier to get to everything.

Welcome to the complete nutters club!

Nope! I don't recognise her either and I ain't gonna trawl through several hundred photos to see a similarity as I suggest the cockpit canopy is non-standard so we cannot see what the original screen was like.

Mike is right I think it is a Buckingham.

They were built alongside the Grand Union Canal at Bletchley (Milton Keynes). I remember going and looking round the works back in the 70s, as I recall the company was called the Bletchley Boat Company.

Gentlemen,

Thank you very much. If it's a 25' Buckingham, would I just be charged for 25' on a mooring/pontoon or would they add on the outdrive?

I'm afraid that I don't know the name. I do have a 6 number registration plate that I was going to try to find some history from but nothing yet.

Andy, thanks for your comments but you missed out the crucial first job...where to put the burgee! ... and the beer cooler!

Adrian, I do like the name but it may be tempting providence as it is a bit close to the bone.
