Hey guys...I have a new boat, except I have no idea what it is!!...I am not picking it up until friday, and all I know is that it is either 18 or 20ft, its a bilge keeler, and the owner says its quite beamy. I hope someone can help, so that I can start doing some research on layout etc, and make sure I can keep it original! Cheers for now!

Well, lets call it 'Unique 18'.

A one off design by Blunketts of Sheffield. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I suspect that your boat, nice as it is, may not be regarded as a classic. You might do better to post on the Practical Boat Owner forum.
There were several similiar designs popular in the 60s / 70s, for instance, Sailfish 18, Skipper 17. This isn't either of those but the owners associations may recognise your vessel.
A good clue is to check if there are any insignias on the sails.
Good luck and have fun with her.
Personally I'm not mad about the colour, but it is distinctive.

Hi
Your boat appears to match the description of a Cooksley . Is the cabin ply or glass .

Cheers

I seem to remember one of these being offered as competition prize in 'Yachting & Boating Weekly' in the early 1970s ...

GRP might yet prove tomorrow's classic ...
