Just found an old Timex watch at the bottom of an old sailing bag, unused since gave up Wayfarer racing 8 years ago. It is an Ironman Triathlon.

It is displaying the time and date, 37 secs fast. Not too bad, and what a battery life. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

well it is an Ironman Triathlon watch /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif you didn't find a Harrison's clock at the bottom as well then /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

My Ironman has a crack all the way across the face, duck tape holding it onto the strap goes racing on a Hurricane catamaran every weekend (therefore usually goes swimming every weekend) and has never failed, top watch. Shame it can't get us to the start line on time.

I've got my Grandad's watch, 98 years old & still going strong. The watch that is, Grandad stopped a long while ago.
It apparently runs on something called "clockwork", whatever will they think of next.

Knew I should go for a Japanese watch, was given an Omega, and it keeps the worst time possible, and stops regularly. Cost more than numerous Timexes to get adjusted/serviced too.

My brother bought an early Omega Seamaster, and assumed it was an automatic. It was only after the service agent returned it to him on the third occasion that they asked the leading question...

I was given one of those in 1983 (sometime round there anyway) and it still works perfectly. If you don't use the backlight, it will run for donkey's years!

What, the sundial? I've yet to see one of those run without a backlight... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
