Hi All,
I've just joined the forums, and wondered if you guys can help. We own a motorhome and a boat (Bayliner 2050 Bowrider) we would love to hear from anyone who knows of suitable slips/launch sites with adjoining campsite facilities.
I know there is a few at Lake Windemere, where else is there to go??
All replies welcome, Regards to all.

We live in Harrogate N. Yorkshire, the boat is kept at home on its trailer, the Motorhome is 27' long which is no good on slipways!!!. Usually there is a freindly fellow boater more than ready to offer their help with launch /recovery.
In May/June this year I towed the boat to St. Maxime in the Gulf of St. Tropez, within 20mins of "pitching" on the site, a guy in a jeep pulled up and offered his services to put it in the sea!!.
p.s. promise to sort the profile out and find a suitable sig/avatar, (then find someone who knows about these confusers to put it on for me!) Dave

There are a few nice looking campsite in the new forest, on the road that runs from southampton down to Lyndhurst, then Brockenhurst, then Lymington. The A337?. I have not stayed in them, just driven by often. There are good launching slips in Lymington with lots of room, you might even be able to swing the 27footer about and use it to launch the boat. Then you can sail the solent, Cowes, Poole, etc

HowDoo Dave, I can give you free overnight stop-over and slipway access to the longest stretch of the non-tidal Thames.

Levington Marina, Ipswich allowed me to pay for a 15 foot "berth" and park my camper overnight when I went there to look at a boat and arrived late. Very civilised, code for shower blocks etc. and no neighbours with pink bedroom slippers.

Chichester Marina also pointed me at a public car park by their entrance and said it would be OK, which it might have been but I found a big glossy motorhome parked on the sea front at Bracklesham or somewhere, so I got into their lee for safety in numbers and woke up with the surf. Very nice.
