Hi. We're exploring the possibility of buying a camera and a simple weather station for our club with the information feeding to the internet so that members can keep an eye on boats and the current weather conditions. Does anyone have any recommendations on makes and models of reliable equipment without us spending a fortune?

Many thanks

Hello

Round our way on the Medway, the Sheppey site is compulsory viewing. Though always amazed how flat the sea looks on web cam compared to when you are on it! The site has quietly migrated from Sailing Club to Sheppey Community recently! I am assured the provider welcomes contact and the email address is given on the above linked site. Cheers

Have a look at the Medway Cruising Club station (www.medwaycruisingclub.org.uk/weather.html) on their clubhouse on the River Medway at the Strand Gillingham Kent.

The weather station is a Davis Vantage Pro with the anemometer mounted at 12M agl. It gives a good idea of the wind you will face as you come down river into the more open part of the river.
