Evening all,

We bought a new boat to us in June and its our first... steep learning curve for both of us but we've been out a huge amount and have done a fair bit to the boat to improve it.

Is a Maxum 2600 SE.

Just looked at the calorifier tonight and I don't think it's connected to the engine, it's a mercruiser Mag 350. The paperwork shows the calorifier was replaced recently.

Does anyone know if this boat has the connections for a calorifier, where would I find them. I'm quite mechanically minded and happy to get dirty sorting this out.

Maybe they only used it on shore power?

I think feed is on the engine water pump, cannot remember where return goes?

Is your engine raw water cooled?

Thanks, it is raw water cooled. I've read a few debates about how hot it'll get with this type of cooling. Hopefully this thread won't start another debate! Think I'll wait until after summer then try and plumb it in.

Yes it will, ours is heat exchanger, and the water is so hot it is close to scalding, temp gauge of engine is 80/85 degc.
So even with an engine at 70 degc you will get hot enough water to be useable.
