Calorifier coolant leak

Last winter I installed a new calorifier. Recently I have noticed a coolant leak from one of the hose end fittings where I have used sikaflex 291 to seal the threads. The sikaflex seems to have gone soft and is no longer sealing the joint

My question is have I used the wrong sealant for this and if so, what would be a more suitable sealant to use?

I believe that Sikaflex will take the temperature and certainly will take the exposure to water. A frequent cause of failure to set in Sikaflex and many other products is the presence of silicones. Was the hose previously sealed with a bathroom sealant?

Odd choice of thread sealant, i would use PTFE tape.

I tend to use CT1 as it sets under water so any moisture helps rather than hinders.

All fittings on mine are BSP and dry fitted, no sealant, no leaks - so far.
