Following on from recent threads about GoPro cameras, I have just got a couple of the cheaper MUVI HD cameras. In the video these were positioned in various locations around the boat. The batteries lasted about three hours and video quality is good. The photo of the seal at Newtown Creek was with a different camera though.

Yes we are on the dry stack but the yamaha outboard is only a 115hp.

Have given dry stacks a lot of thought I think they have a lot going for them 115 that is great performance how did you get your picture to come up on your threads I can only get mine to come up in my profile

Good stuff! ... What do you use to stitch it all together and add print and music? I'm only using a very basic set-up at the moment which doesn't do either! ... (I confess the whole camera/computer business is something of a mystery!)

Hamble Point dry stack isn't the cheapest, but the cost of fuel to get up & down Southampton Water together with the MDL petrol at cost price, makes it better value for money than other options and frankly you can't beat the location. Also, Hamble Point staff are very good, if we want the boat on a berth for a few days it isn't a problem.
The boat is in the water at the moment and I can almost hear it calling to me. We are planning to go out Saturday and Sunday as it is looking like more nice weather.

I use Windows Live Movie Maker which comes free on Microsoft PC's. The music is downloaded free from Youtube libraries so there is no copyright issues.

Other use for the Muvi

I like the MUVI NPNG kit as well. I use it for diving. Its ambient lighting so a bit blue but they have edited my footage into a promo taken in the Caymans last Autumn - have a look at
