I read Peppermints post and began to wonder - why should you call a marina to ask if its ok to come in and where should we go?
There are monthly posts about marina charges and of course as an occasional overnight user I get to pay at the highest rates.
You wouldn't phone a multi-story and ask if its ok to park - you enter and then find a berth. As marinas nearly all have signs indicating which are visitor berths, I think from here on in we should all just go in and park then wait for them to come and collect their money. This would put customers in the driving seat and should make us feel that marinas are doing something towards earning their crusts
And don't give me that nonsense about other boats manoevring and we have to wait for instructions - cars go faster than boats and can inflict plenty of damage - just do it.
This would be an excellent way of cutting down on vhf calls and would stop Peppermint from making an eejit of himself as he forgets to press the right buttons
