Calcium? Deposits left by small barnacles.

Hi all , Due to lockdown i left my boat afloat all last year so this year the bottom was covered with small barnacles .. easy to pressure wash off but the residue left which appears to be some sort of calcium deposit is a sod to remove .Anyone know of a " chemical " which can be painted on to dissolve them ? Iv tried the usual cillit bang products to no avail . Regards Terry

Yes, thick rubber gloves, not the surgical type, face mask and goggles. And clothes you expect to throw away afterwards. That stuff stings when it stays on the skin for a while, and can do serious damage to eyes, and put holes in clothes

Thanks for your replies chaps i will try both today and report back ..... pretty sure cillit bang lime scale remover didnt touch it but will try again .?

I also use Hydrochloric acid.

I also wish we could find a glue that the barnacles use to stick themselves to the hull of my boat.

I find Viakal and wire wool very effective and less "hazardous" than brick cleaner.
