I appear to have lost the website that gave you all the lock in / lock out times at Calias.

Always thought Calais was like a French Tilbury myself , Boulogne not much further but nicer (just) ..

Agree - whilst neither town has much to recommend it, when we're in that part of the world we tend to prefer Boulogne to Calais.

Yes, however most of the time there is little need to use the VHF and instead follow the IPTS. Although very occasionally one does seem to get overlooked and a quick call resolves the problem.

Just been. Note that there's a very noisy fair on the ground opposite the marina at present that blares on until midnight. I don't know how long it's there for but inwasnglad to see the back of it. Some great restaurants there... Thoroughly recommend Histoire Ancienne and Au Vieux Fournil.

We were there this last weekend and I am pleased to report that the fair had gone (final bits be transported away).

Most people that I talk to complain about the rafting on the visitir's pontoon, again this weekend it was all very civilised and no rafting at all.

What a great short break!
