Calais - cross post from YM

and could also make the entrance to the marina a bit more practical

I always find getting between the beach and the channel just near to the breakwater (out of the tide as well) and as soon as a ferry is inbound call up on VHF and ask to follow the ferry in works.

Did read somewhere the gates into the marina were being or had been repaired.

Gates are operational again, which makes it quieter.

I wonder if they will need 8 ferry berths as shown, especially as My Ferry Link must be sold by Eurotunnel. Will the cross channel traffic grow by that amount?

A full access marina would be an excellent idea, but it is not in the apparent plans at the moment.

Might enable an all tide access marina to be built outside the lock gates or, at least, some waiting pontoons rather than bouys.

An all tide marina (like the tidal marina at Dover) would be welcome* but failing that I would prefer the buoys to rafting on a pontoon some 10+ deep while waiting for a lock as I experienced further down the coast.

* Fortunately the limitations of the tidal access only generally apply when headed/arriving to/from South.
