Cala D'or crew

Hi Mat. We were in there last night, but left for Port Adriano this morning. Sorry we've missed you. Planning to get back Sunday if you're still around.
R&G

I think i saw your boat tied up to the fuel Quay in adriano yesterday afternoon.

Been on the forum for a while, boat is CeKaT, Princess 58 on pontoon G. Certainly feels like a large number of members have taken the plunge and moved out to CD.

Pop by and say hello we're here for till September.

Yes,it is my home port. We didn't go to the show, was It any good?

Did they keep you on the fuel Quay all weekend?

We thought the show was really good fun. Gloria did her stuff and there was a disco afterwards. All very much targeted at those of us born in the 1960's of course! Nice atmosphere. We will certainly do it again.

I booked a berth 3 weeks ago, so was a bit disappointed to have to stay on the fuel quay all weekend. Lovely view, but a bit lively. I did ask to be moved if a space came up, but was told everything was full. I did notice some sub 60 footers in the superyacht berths, but that option wasn't offered to us. We have enjoyed Adriano.

My crew are split between BCU's charter boat and the Hotel D'Or which is up the road from the marina opposite the Spar shop. I'll ask them when I am in there this Friday.

Just for completeness - The Hotel D'Or don't let non residents in to their pool but in any case it is nothing special. It was perfectly alright for accommodation for those who can't fit on your boat though. The breakfast was excellent so my girls told me.

Try the introtel esmeralda chain they have adult only or kids hotels about a 15 min walk from the Marina.

I stayed in May whilst checking out the area and very nice

Thanks, that definitely looks best of the lot but is £300 or so a night (we prefer a suite), which is a shame. This might be a better bet for us https://www.holidaylettings.co.uk/rentals/cala-d-039-or/43380.

One questions for you CDO residents, if my memory serves me correctly, berths are arranged around a long thin inlet and the restaurants are at the North side. Where do you guys keep your boats, on the North or South sides and how long does it take to walk from one to the other?

HI
It may be easier to rent a forum members boat for a few days at least it would get you out on the water,Surely EBS would do you a very good deal albeit not a flybridge
good luck

Hi Pete, restos along both sides and a five min walk between the two. The Esmerelda chain is good but everything is really only 20min max walk from the marina so no huge black spots.

Hi Pete. Im a bit off the pace...! As Mat has said, there are restaurants on both sides, but the heaviest concentration is on the North side. We probably go 'North side' 2 or 3 times to every visit 'South'. There are basically 3 distinct locations in Cala d'Or marina, South side, North side, and the pontoons at the seaward end beyond the boatyard on the South side. We are on these pontoons and like the location as it is very peaceful with no holiday makers walking by. Some would say that its too quiet and a bit isolated from the action... it depends on your preferences.
The downside is that we are as far away as you can get from the North side concentration of restaurants. We have to allow at least 15 minutes strolling time. Usually more as we stop and chat to everyone. Cala d'Or is a very friendly place. Hope the photo helps with orientation. Do come to say hello if we are there in September.
