Cabrera (Majorca) - any tips or useful info

We have been to Cabrera lots of times - really worth going.

If you go, the Blue Cave is worth a visit.
Usually crystal clear water.

On that visit, we went back to the caves in the dinghy after picking up a buoy in Cabrera.

permit of navigation - I wasnt expecting that. Highly unlikely I would have got one of those, I speed read , so glad I asked the question on here!

It comes as part of the booking - the email that you get says you can navigate you don't need to do anything else ( well if you do I have not been caught in 7 years ! )

This is what the email says ( and I know of no way to get the claimed 50% refund)

AUTHORITATION TO CARRY OUT PUBLIC ACTIVITIES

The manned vessel whose skipper's information are detailed above is authorised to carried out the abovementioned public activities, in accordance with the rules governing the National Park Cabrera (Decree 58/2006 establishing the Master Plan for Management and Public Use). This authorisation, along with the vessel's, skipper's and each diver's documents, must be submitted to the National Park Watch Patrol or any other Park officer upon request.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE

The duration of the reservation will be from 18 pm the day of arrival until 17 am on the last day of the reservation.
The cancellation of the indicated activity is performed electronically. In the event of cancellation of the reservation of funds, it is done before 17:00 noon on the date of the booking, will involve the return of 50% of the amount of the fee paid.
The applicant will have to moor the buoy authorized.
Remember that you can not fish in the park, unless duly authorized professional fishermen, or to litter, or navigate, anchor or otherwise using integral reserve areas, both terrestrial and marine.
No animals landing
The recreational diving can be done with the permission in regulated areas in the zoning of the park, and must be communicated verbally to the nursery to provide security for the dive.
Navigation permits have one year validity.
You are not allowed to anchor in any area of the park.
Boats with a maximum length of 15 meters with navigation permit can moor during daytime, from one hour after sunrise and one hour before sunset, at the mooring buoys, located at daytime mooring areas, which are: Es Burrí (30 moorings), Sa Coveta Roja (8 moorings) and Port area (12 moorings located close to the main dock).
The cost of all damages caused to the moorings by watercrafts which do not meet these criteria, may be claimed to the captain of the vessel or to the charter company.
All watercrafts that are not allowed by law to navigate beyond 2 nautical miles from coast, such as jet skis or pedalos, must not navigate National Park's waters either.
It is strictly prohibited to light fires in the island or to barbecue aboard.
Only auxiliary boats and dinghys are allowed to land in any of the two docks of the National Park, having permission to stay exclusively for the duration of the visit.
Anchoring in Cabrera harbor is forbidden, except in case of emergency, force majeure or authorized ships.
No fly zone for drones.

Yep - I know that now.
A yachtie friend flew his the season after that video was taken and the rangers stopped him.
Nothing particularly unpleasant - just the ranger saying no.
The ranger offered some advice by saying that he could fly it in Es Trenc.

That video was taken with my Phantom 3 which only has a 2.7K camera.
I've had a Mavic since then which produces better videos.
Well, actually, I have had two Mavics - the first one went swimming in Sayona (Ibiza)!!!

Also that video was edited with some old software that I had.
I would like to think that I could make a better job now with the KDENLive software that I'm now using.
