I meant its not too cold to be outside today is 25 C in October which is spring here

We also sail all year but in summer its often too humid to be comfortable but where our cats live is at 600 ft above sea level and the humidity can be very low with no rain in the winter unlike the UK

As I said they are / wrer outside cats and only spent time inside during the evening and always put out before we went to bed As the cats were never allowed in any of our bedrooms

Ours is a duvet based cat, though she gets off when we are asleep and boring. The opposite of Roger, she’s locked in at night by her space age cat flap. She has a tray, but now she’s pretty much a grown up, she crosses her legs til morning. Presumably she craps in a place other than our garden, we never see it. There’s plenty of places other than gardens though, there’s about 10 acres of uncultivated land around us.

For all the negatives my wife would love another cat. But our house has no land around it like our last one. In that the 2 cats had loads of room to play. Watching them chase each other up the willow tree will be a great memory. Chasing squirrels was their favourite hobby.

Many cat owners I’ve spoken to say that cats are clean animals because they sh1t on other people’s property not on theirs.

Bearing in mind what it smells like when our little dear has laid a log in the cat tray, I think we’d notice if she did it behind a sofa. We are grateful to her for keeping that activity outside, mostly.
