Firstly, the kitchen worktop in the photo is not our choice.

I need a handful of bulbs for the cabin lights, these are the correct original to the boat light fittings.

Appears to be a BA15 fitment, needs to be 24v, 5w, note in the pic, two contacts on the base and 2 filaments.

The old bulb says LUMAX FQ 24v 5w 150

Its not clear to me if the outer cap of the bayonet is the ground, I would think so, but my multimeter is in the shed and its chilly out!

Where to buy such a bulb?

its doesn't matter much if one terminal on the base is the ground for both filaments or if its the bayonet cap, either way, I can make it work.

They are a ba15d if the pins are at the same height. + And - are on the contacts on the bottom outer is nothing I believe. It's peculiar to marine from what I found and they are a pain in the rear to find. I have some in my nav lights and have got some led replacements from AliExpress but if you are looking be careful as the ba15d on Ali express come in all sorts of configurations even brake side light config. I believe they are also known as 1157 bulbs. I bought some from a seller that specified plus and minus on the contacts (although the thinking about it I think mine are offset pins... )

That probably hasn't helped but have a look on Ali express...

Brill. Thanks. I checked, both pins are pos and neg, outer can is isolated from both. Why twin filaments? redundancy I guess. I have found some single filament ones that will fit.

You can still get that worktop from B & Q

If both pins are positive and outer is negative, then the wrong bulb has been used, the twin filament is for high and low power on brake and sidelight bulbs, the light fitting has no ground connection that I can see, although if this is designed for twin positive and outer negative then the bulbs are really easy to find!

I know this is difficult to source but consider replacing with a 28v one.
On our old Sealine, we had a similar problem - the 24v bulbs kept blowing due to surges.
The solution was 28v bulbs.
Just a thought
