does anybody know of a cabin heater that is small and safe to put in our main cabin with 2 v berths, i dont want to install an expensive warrrm air unit at this time
Our Westerly Konsort was fitted with a catalytic bulkhead mounted heater which gave warmth but loads of condensation as well... I replaced it with a Force10 LPG bulkhead unit which is vented out thru the deckhead with 25mm stainless tube.
It is great, warm dry heat and relatively inexpensive to purchase .
Hope this is helpful

i purchased mine from Fox's Chandlery at Ipwich...about £310 last September.
They also supplied the exhaust/chimney tube for about £8. The top vent is part of the supplied unit.
I made a slight mod to improve safety...my local steel fabricator rolled a piece of half inch stainless metal gauze which I screwed in place around the outside of the burner section to prevent stray knitting wool/daily paper coming in to contact with flame (the mate sits close to heater..)
Good hunting!

They do a tent heater which I know a couple of boat owners have used with glowing reports. Not sure if they have UK distributors, they're in the US but I believe they will supply to the UK.
Look like a great bit of kit for a smaller boat.I have unfond memories of freezing on my old boats whilst trying to coax a bit of heat from the cooker.... How come the Yanks always come up with these things and so cheap too. Nick.
