Cabin Cruiser selection help needed

Fuel consumption. On my boat which is probably a fair example of that size of tub you will get around 1-2 gallons per hour @ 4/5 knots upriver.Out on the briny proper expect your boat to gobble the stuff @ 8 gallons per hour.Deisel will cost you 50p ish a litre if you search hard enough or add another 10p if you insist on keeping your boat "inamarina".
Do not forget to add berthing costs which on the Thames are eye wateringly impressive, cheaper just about anywhere else in the known universe.

Nope......Twin 130hp Volvos on outdrives.Engines each use about 1 gallon an hour at river speeds on what is more or less fast tickover.

Us on the river Medway last summer.

What an idylic picture that sums it all up for me, could you tell me what make of boat it is.
Interesting that you have twin engines, what is your top speed on a flat mill pond ?
Regards
Steve

Nice Princess 33 by the look of it. But unlikely to be in your price range, I would have thought, with twin diesels. I would imagine a price starting with a 3.

"top speed on a flat mill pond"
On a very good day with the a F9 behind her,the old girl can pick up her skirts and do very nearly 16 knots.

As to prices.Forget silly Mk11 versions with daft asking prices, lots of Mk1 around for sale at the moment so loads to choose from .

Now is the time to buy.Pick the coldest frostiest windest day to view and make your offers, ideally with a thin layer of ice on the water on the day in question.
The boat in all probability has been up for sale since last summer and all the seller has got to look forward to between now and next year is a bill from the boatyard for about £1+ k for mooring fees and two visits to clean the blimming thing ready to try and sell all over again next season. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Tell them thats all youve got dosh wise ,leave a phone number and walk away.
Paid not much more than your top price for that boat..
