C&RT to launch on 12th July

RYA Article states that, following last week's formal parliamentary approval of the British Waterways Board (Transfer of Functions) Order 2012 the launch of the new Canal and River Trust is scheduled for 12th July.

The new C&RT website is online in preview form HERE
Interestingly, it makes a feature of an Online Boat Checker where people can report apparently unlicensed boats.

It also reports the first commitments of support including £1million from the Peoples Postcode Lottery as well as the agreement with Google Maps to include canal details and an association with the Cooperative Bank
