The Sealand tank monitor is indicating full [I suspect the high level led has failed] & the extraction pump only pushes air. The circuit diagram shows connections to both float level [high & full] switches and I suspect that lifting the tank cap might cause the float to drop & enable the pump to operate as desired, but life's rarely that straightforward. If anyone has any experience of dealing with this problem, I should be much obliged for some advice.

Hopeful thanks,

John G

Would a gentle tap with a small hammer not help loosen the sender?
On another boat the fuel guage would stick when we were heeled, but a very gentle tap to the top of the tank on the plate holding teh sender would set it sliding back to the level of liquid.

cheers

Thanks to all of you. The tank was empty & can still used [even more phew! than you can imagine]. I shall a tap, but they installed the seating after fitting the tank.
