I have sold my Targa 48 and have agreed to deliver it to Norway, near Oslo. I intend to go up the West Coast of Denmark to Hantsholm Haven then accross to near Oslo but my chart of the South coast runs out at IJmuiden/Hoek Holland. Rather than buying new chip for a four day delivery trip I am looking to borrow/hire/beg/steal/rent a C-Map NT+ chart for my Raymarine RC80C plotter. I don't think it takes the orange mega-wide NTcards but the NT+ ones? Please pm me if you wouldn't mind assisting with this. I do have the paper charts for the area so not totally essential. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Great journey ... make the trip via Helgoland, use Esbjerg and Hvide Sande as alternative/emergency harbours en route.... Mist forms very rapidly around Esbjerg, so be aware of the conditions which causes the forming of fog near shore.

Coastline is shalow all the way up, so some awkward seas can be encountered.... Once at Tyborøen, it is a relatively straight forward hop (Hirtsalts as alternative jump of point??).

Consider the Kiel Canal if weather is un-settled ....

Hi Drivemaster, your points have been noted. Route planned is as follows
Westpole to Dover
Dover to Ijmuiden
Ijmuiden to Helgoland
Helgoland to Esbjerg or Tyboren Norde
Tyboren Norde to Hanstholm Haven
Hanstholm Haven to Sandefjord
This is the fine weather route which I would love to do. Alternatively Keil canal as you suggest.

Sounds a great trip. When are you doing it?

It stands to reason that the guy who has bought your boat must be buying a Norway chip for the plotter. So ask him to buy it now and mail it to you. No skin off his nose to do this, surely?

We go next Tuesday 30th. The new owner has bought the boat ripped out all the cockpit, saloon and bedroom upholstery and all new stuff is being put in this coming weekend. At the moment my boat looks like its been wrecked inside (ex-boat). To answer your point he is changing the RLC for a C-series Wide when it gets to Norway otherwise that is what I would have done.

I have NT+ cartridge described as "Germany North Coast" ref. M-EN-C901.01 Feb 02 that you could borrow. Not sure exactly what the coverage is but I think you can check it online or by calling C-Map. Also "Kullen to Malmoe and Sjealland" M-EN-C109.01, which I think is a local chart for somewhere in the Baltic.

PS - I also have Netherland and Belgium which gets you right up the Dutch coast to Germany.
