C-Map: Commercial bought by Lloyds Register ; Recreational (along with Navico) being bought by Brunswick (Mercury outboards etc).

Thanks for that.
My concerns were for the nitty gritty of spending my money with C-Map.

(I've experienced a few take-overs where things do not go as smoothly as the top brass presume it will, especially when a 'leader' in one sphere (e.g. marine engines) tries to extend its scope into a related but dissimilar field (e.g. marine electronics in this case).

- At the beginning of this year, the UK service centre were helpful and swift in reply to an email. In the last month, my recent email enquiry about a 4D card remains unanswered despite a chase-up.
- Also, I was warned by a supplier of a guillotine on chart card updates which may or may not be real - I managed to get an update on a different chart card within the window so will be OK for a year or two in that regard.

If I understand correctly, they have appointed Aquafax (from 1st September) as their preferred wholesaler partly for Aquafax's "superior technical support".
Navico announces preferred UK wholesaler partnership with Aquafax | Navico

Ah well, all is OK for now as I don't need the 4D issue to be sorted until November.
Cheers
Bob
