C-Map Chart Updates

Hi All,

Bit new to all this so hope you can help. I've procured a c-map c-card cart from the mighty e-Bay. Great deal - only draw back is it's from '03. Now I know rocks don't change much but it would be nice to be up to date for any moved lights etc.

So the question - how do chart updates work etc for electronic charts on a cartridge? Especially if I don't have the original purchase receipt...

Just take it (or post it) to a C-Map dealer, pay 50% of new chart cost, they update it. No receipt needed.

It depends on the chart but sometimes the update is bigger than the capacity of the chip. In that case its easier to buy a new chart and sell the old one on ebay

It just might be cheaper to update the card through their Jeppesen Club.

I've never heard of that.

Its happened twice to me. The last time was when I updated my Orkney/Shetland chart.

Is the card NT or NT+, if it is NT you may not be able to update without returning the card to Jepperson in Italy, UK agents can only update NT+ as far as I am aware.
