Last year I was able to get the GFS forecast downloaded from a C-Map server and displayed on PC Planner. This seems to have stopped working and true to C-Map form there does not seem to be any information on the C-Map website about it.

It might just be me, I suppose, my PC Planner is set to download from 195.31.148.55 has it changed?

My problem is not how to get the GFS forecast. I can get it in any one of four entirely different ways, and via the Internet, Sailmail, or Winlink. The C-Map GFS is quite handy when route planning with that application actually open at the time....not that I would open the application just for the weather

It has changed

151.11.79.41

Maybe I got mine because I registered my copy of C-Map Planner, However for some reason it wont link to the server.

Thanks, but as you say, that doesn't work either. I have been a registered user since 2004 but they keep changing my logon and changing the Key to the PC Planner device itself /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif The C-Map website has no information on this today. This is typical C-Map. How long have you been a registered user for?

Yes, I found it handy last year when passage planning -- we've got PC Planner open on the machine and are playing around with various scenarios that are weather-dependant. It would be handy to have the GFS weather overlay but not vital. I can't understand why C-Map keeps messing about with logons, servers, and facilities. Starting with a clean sheet of paper I wouldn't consider any system based on C-Map but given my present hardware I am captive.....for the time being /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I've still failed. I went onto the C-Map site, looged in, and found some update notes referring to c-weather server problems.
I then downloaded and installed an updated version of PC Planner. v 11.0.5 Build(2014). This refers the c-weather server as c-weather.c-map.it it stll fails to connect with server. So I've put in a help request to c-map. I'll let you know when I've got it.

Thanks, I'm grateful. Normally, when you update the software from their site you need a new software key -- i.e. your PC Planner opens in Demo Mode. Getting the new key is not always easy or quick. C-Map don't have a customer services department. I have never yet had a reply from C-Map to any email or webform request. I did finally get an answer from a re-seller, I think, about how to get a new key.

I got the new key virtually instantly on the web site, also it was e-mailed as well.

[/ QUOTE ]That's a huge improvement on last time I did it. You don't mind if there are no humans, if the machines are working. Hope the machines can help on the question of C-Weather.

It's now working, well it's certainly worked once!

Still haven't got a reply from c-map.

However all I've done is download the latest version of PC Planner (PC PLANNER v. 11.0.5.2014 SETUP) from
http://pcplanner.c-map.it/default.asp

You have to delete the version on your PC first.

When you look at the View Settings C-Weather the server is already pre-entered as c-weather.c-map.it

I've just checked it again for an area in the Med and it still works.
