I feel sorry for c&j, all they wanted to do was send out their newsletter to say happy christmas but made a simple and may i say from personal experience a easy mistake to make.

i think some members should get a life. what you dont ever get spam???????? /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

My experience with C&J has only been positive.

This is very true, they are nice people who would be mortified in knowing what has happened.

It is so easy to make a silly mistake and then regret the consequences, let the one who has never made a mistake cast the first stone.

Not a very gracious reply given their apology. In fact your approach to a genuine mistake was pretty pants really. A gentle word would have worked wonders. Like others on here I can't see why you raised it on a public forum first.

I think you are being a little harsh with them. They made a mistake.

I have to add that they are one of the best suppliers I have dealt with in the marine industry. They are fair, don't muck you about and deliver on time. So please could you forgive them on this occaision??

My experience with C&J is the same as Chris's. Ring on a Saturday and you're likely to find the boss answering the phone - they're that sort of company. I think it's a gross error on their part but they are aware of it and have apologised. Be kind.

By the way unless I start heading south they are never going to get to make the tent which goes with my sprayhood!

I think it is important to draw a line in the sand. Thankfully we do have a Data Protection Act to protect us against these very things but in this sort of case I think it's better for all concerned if one can make one's point in an industry-related forum like this rather than make a formal complaint.

Forget the tent, head further south and get a bimini!! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

C&J make sprayhoods & cockpit covers - expensive, but good quality.

Now thats impressive, a full apology on the home page - no messing there.

No it shouldn't have happened but at least they appear to be dealing with it.

Unlike Clipper Marine who has also done the same thing. The difference being - no remorse, no apology.
I would love to find out how they got my email address when I have never given it to them............
