We got back this evening. Boy, I have never been as cold as I was on Sunday night. 4 layers of thermals and still shivering.

The promised Northerly wind veered to North Easterly as we crossed the shipping lane, making the prospective trip up to Stellendam a very unpleasant wind over tide slog, so diverted to Roompot and came up through the inland waterways today.

After talking with Kurt the tiller pilot on the way over, John continued his dodgy relationship with marine technology by nearly throwing the GPS over the side when he dropped off to sleep at the tiller.

I'm very pleased to have finally achieved the North Sea crossing, but perhaps next time it will be in warmer weather.

The wind pilot was fine. Changing to the flip-flop blocks is a big improvement. It doesn't have Kurt's fanaticism for degree accuracy, but otherwise no issue.

My bits were dropping off by the time we got to Bradwell, I can't imagine how cold it would have been crossing the north sea

A fine achievement, well impressed!

Any joy with the windvane?

Thought of you as I sat in the flat with the heating on!!!

Good achievment - character building!!
