Windy was surveyed yesterday (more on that later) and she tipped the scales at just over 3 tonnes. Spot on Byron!

She breezed through her survey with only a minor point being two of the props had v. small dinks in them - nothing to worry about, sort it in closed season at lay up. In fact the surveyor was enthusiastic about the good condition he found it in. He took her round from Brixham to Torquay for a useable crane (Brixham crane is bust) and so had some sea trial time with her. He said she goes like a rocket!. In his West Country accent (you have to imagine this bit)....eeer, you be buyin' a real powerful boat mind....

So... now I pay for her and get her transported to North Wales ETA next Friday.

Dave - hope I haven't put you off now...

Similar to you, I'm hoping to trade up next year with a budget close to yours - and am looking at LPG too as diesels are a liitle out of reach.

Just remember, at least with the size of your new boat you can get more friends on to contribute when you go out!! /forums/images/icons/wink.gif Mind you, it'll probably cost you more in keeping the fridge stocked up!! /forums/images/icons/shocked.gif

I am really pleased, the dinks on the Prop can often be knocked out with a hammer and a bit of wood, filing can help too but remember performance is affected no matter how small the prop's imperfection. So! If she zooms now.... she'll zoom all the more with refurbished propellors.
I hope you have many a happy day with her..CONGRATULATIONS

Best wishes for your new boat Dave.

But how come Byron got all the accolade for the 3 tons?

Strange, thought I was the first one to mention 3 tons /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Such is life. I never seem to get the recognition I am due either/forums/images/icons/frown.gif
Anyway, all the best Dave with the new boat, I'm envious. Just hope that LPG will continue to be both available and cheap/forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Thanks Martyn - may be you were?? This week has been the week from hell work wise and my brain is easily fuddled.

Still - looking forward to learning lots again. My current boat is a 17' bowrider with 100 Suzuki. I suspect there's some learning to be done here!

Yes, my first choice would have been diesel but even single diesel was too out of my range. I came across this one just by chance - or maybe it wasn't chance 'cos I have been scouring the Internet for 6 months now!

It appears that the "book price" for this model and year is between £24k - £26k, and thats without two new engines and LPG. So I hope that it turns out to be the bargain I feel I have bought.

Congrates, Dave. I hope you get as much enjoyment out your new boat as i am with mine this year. Enjoy...

When can we see a pic?
Why not post a pic of it or one similar on this post?

Let us all admire her....

Cheers
