The thread on the fuel inlet of my secondary fuel housing has gone allowing a small amount of fuel to escape from the connection. The engine failed to start.
I am in remote Indonesia. A local guy has re-tapped the thread but it is still leaking although it is running again.
I need to travel 300 miles, mostly motoring as there is little wind, to the next place I might get it fixed.
If the engine stops again on this passage what is the risk of bypassing this secondary, engine housing, filter entirely and relying solely on the 10 micron primary Racor filter? I presume the secondary filter is 2mm. The engine is a standard Beta 75 not turbo charged.
Thanks for your comments.
The tank has recently been cleaned and the fuel is always filtered as it is poured into the tank.
