Bycicles on boats

For the cost of a decent folding bike you can take a lot of taxi rides. Local buses are fun too.

Bikes are not worth the locker space IMHO. It's either too hot, too hilly, too far away, not worth digging the thing out as the errand only takes you round the corner. etc, etc. Another thing to maintain onboard!

About the only place I see bike being worthwhile is on the canals.

What is worthwhile is a folding sack barrow, just the job for lugging fuel cans, heavy shopping etc.

Just had a lot of funon our folder pedalling around Pembrokeshire then bits of Somerset on the way back. Added a new dimension to the cruise being able to potter around some inland villages etc also usefull for collecting food and fuel etc.Got some funny looks in the que at Tescos petrol station in Pembroke Dock /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Strange named village .No mountains or even much of a hill(fortunately as the bike is a single speed)

I had con sidered taking my full size bike but glad I didnt. OK in a marina but even the folder took up a lot of room in our 2.3m dinghy.
