Hi,
I'm planning to do the ARC this year and keep the boat in the BVI for a while. Does anyone have a recommendation for a marina there? The boat is a 47ft Beneteau.
Do I need to book a berth now or will I be able to get one when we get there?

cheers,

steve.

Nanny Cay is a good place. Not right in the centre of Road Town but close enough. Reasonably secure. Lots of hard standing if you want to get her out of the water.

I wouldn't worry too much about booking way in advance unless you are looking for a long term berth.

Any particular reason for choosing the BVIs? They are about the most expensive place in the caribbean. Have you considered Antigua or St Martin?

nany cay is ok, tho the closest marina to the beef island airport is Maya Cove(must be only a mile away), which seems to be entirely taken over by sunsail boats but actually there are some non-sunsail boats there too, and the placve is almost empty except for thursdays. There is also a bar and pool. So worth pitching up for lunch anyway even if you don't stay! I think i wd try and make contact before pitching up for a long stay in the highish season.
