I'm getting a buzzing noise from the AC panel on my Broom 42cl.

Never get it when connected to the shorepower, only when running the generator, and then not always. The longer the generator runs the more likely the buzzing noise. Once it starts it gets louder with time. Reducing the load reduces the loudness of the buzzing noise but even taking the load off completely you're still left with a noticeable buzz until you turn off the generator.

As electrics are a bit of a black art to me (as you may have guesssed) any suggestions what could be causing this?

I suspect you have a loose connection in the generator supply side of your AC panel. The longer the load is on, the hotter the contact will get and it will all expand and get looser and louder. Or one of the circuit breakers / RCD devices is dodgy. Either way if electrics isn't your strong suite get it checked over. Most likely its just a loose terminal that just needs tightening.

That will most likely be the changeover contactor, it only pulls in when you start generator.
