Buying from Yacht Shop - dishonourable

To step away from a boat part supplier, if you order some furniture from Marks and Spencer, they debit your card straight away and almost simultaneously give you a delivery date, in my case 4 weeks. Marks and Spencer then order from their furniture builder/supplier and have use of the credit card money for 4 weeks. I am sure M&S don't pay their supplier until the furniture is dispatched to the customer, or even after that.
I am not disappointed with the product, but it does make me wonder, there was no suggestion of paying a deposit, "I suppose this is really positive cash flow".

There are 2 points here,

1. I can understand a supplier on an expensive item requiring a deposit, or even full payment, as they might find the buyer backs out.

2. The point for an internet supplier, is that the act of tacking payment, is the point at which a contract is crystalised. Before payment is taken, all that has happened it that the supplier has made an "invitation to treat", and I have made an "offer". So if there are any problems with pricing, supply etc, its best (for the supplier) to sort them out before payment makes a binding contract.

and suddenly it has gone quiet.....where is yachtshop one wonders?

From my first post on this on 11th February, it took their MD until 22nd Feb to post - despite me sending him the link at the time of the initial post. I personnally will not be trading with them again, as the appology to me was too little too late. Anyone want a £10 voucher!
