I got three for the family. Great little things, and I don't worry about the waste due to dead batteries.

However, where am I now going to get my carbon rods for the home made, welder driven, arc light?

If you buy a torch you should consider also getting one that is waterproof (resistant) and will float with the beam in the upright vertical position.

If someone falls overboard at night you switch it on and toss it overboard.
The beam will act as a 'danbouy' and give both the MOB something to head for and also give the helmsman a reference point.
